We want to hear your stories about healing and recovery for an upcoming project! More specifically, we’re looking to feature stories that focus on the trial and error process. We’re curious about how people found their way to figuring out what worked for them. If you aren’t sure whether your story would fit what we’re looking for or if you have any questions, click here to contact us and we’d love to help you out!
Please include any necessary trigger warnings at the beginning of your submission.
- How are you defining recovery for this series?
We are defining it as anyone who is intentionally putting the effort into improving their health/circumstances.
- Is there a deadline?
Nope! We are always accepting submissions.
- Can I submit my story anonymously?
Of course! We always accept anonymous submissions.
- Is there anything I should avoid writing about?
Yes, we typically do not accept submissions that include any generalized advice/sayings/phrases (such as “squash the stigma” or “you are enough”).
- What should my story focus on?
We’ve noticed within the mental health community that the majority of stories give great detail into the before and after but rarely the stuff in between. That’s what we would like these submissions to focus on. How did you navigate your healing process? What was your first step towards healing/recovery? Why did you take the steps that you did? How did you know what route to take? How did this process make you feel? etc.
